Several students from Clyde Savannah Central School District in Wayne County, New York took part in a six week introduction to the Reality Check program. The teens were introduced to the messages of Reality Check such as exposing the truth about tobacco marketing and striving towards a clean and healthy tobacco- free outdoors. The summer Reality Check program included activities such as a point of sale scavenger hunt at local convenience stores. along with a “butt pick up” in the community park and surrounding areas. In place of cigarette butts, the youth left rocks they painted that included tobacco facts and kindness messages.
The Reality Check program will be offered at the Clyde-Savannah Central School beginning in the fall.
